The power of a manager...
I have coached so many people over the years and often we end up doing quite basic things such as setting goals together. It has often occured to me that us coaches would be out of a job if every manager was like my last manager Andy Cross. He found a way to manage but also to coach as part of his role. Every appraisal, 1-1 or even constructive feedback was conducted in a coaching way. I felt very lucky to have had that sort of support and challenge in the workplace - I would not have needed an external coach.

If you are a manager reading this, please get yourself on a coaching course soon. And then, practice!
Very good point Paul, I completely agree. Of all the management courses I ever did, the Coaching one was by far the most valuable for me and my team.
